Kuku's Latest Tantrum

Today, when I came home I found Kuku was saying something to his Dad, over and over again. As I edged closer, I thought he was saying "No Kool" which meant "No School" but he was actually saying "Go to Kool" meaning he wanted to go to school. I stared at him in shock.

The Dussera holidays began on September 30th and go on till 12th October. Its been barely a week since school has been closed for the holidays and it looks like he is already bored. When I told him school was closed, he started shouting that he wanted to go to school and threw a major tantrum.

The whole of June and July was spent in trying to get him to school while he cried, kicked, screamed, and shouted "Amma Amma". August was actually better and he was kinda settled in by September. I was worried that he would enjoy his holidays too much and not want to go to school but this was absolutely shocking to me. I did not know whether to laugh or cry.

I asked him if he was bored and he said "Yes"! I think I must plan some activities so he is engaged in the morning :)  Has that happened to you?

Oh Yes, but a little differently. Both my children didnt enjoy staying home for the holidays. I knew it when they teamed up and decided to make my living room a playground where colors, water, paper and toys were all strewn all over and the only thing that seemed missing every evening was a loud ( decibels unknown!!!) yell from me... I tried every way to get them into a routine during the holidays, didnt work!!! Tried activities like sequins decoration on pictures, painting etc.. All of them added more work for me in clearing up the mess or trying to patch up their BIG fight which they had every hour at least.. And they dont take naps either giving u that time and space to clear up!!! Thats how the first week of the vacation went by. So finally I have sent them to my parents place where a change of place would give them some time pass given that it is Dusherra.

But yes, activity classes would help children make use of their time and mingle but kuku is too little for a systematic activity session I think. But you can try!!
